Cannons
2006 launched the first basketball key stage 2 league on Tuesday has proven a
great success. School teams from Holland Park, St Osyth and Mayflower put on a
brilliant display of basketball showing good team spirit and sportsmanship
being shown by all. The league opened with a nail biting very exciting game
between Holland Park Panthers and Mayflower Mavericks with the league changing
continuously with the Mavericks holding off the Panthers to win 14-12. Second
game saw St Osyth Scorpions make their debut with a 20-10 victory over Holland
Park Panthers and continued their performance into another victory against
Mayflower Mavericks in a hard fought game eventually winning 18-11. So leading
the league table with 10 points is St Osyth followed by Mayflower on 7 points
and Holland Park on 4 points, with very little to choose between the
team...this could all change at next months meeting. With cannons having
community sessions u11 & u14 local league teams and strong links to Essex
blades national league teams there is a clear pathway for all participants to
follow.
