KS2 League Round 2
by Chris Tight
Director & Head Coach

WHO'S GOT THE POWER? MAYFLOWER!

Mayflower Mavericks were led in by Mayflower Primary School's PE Coordinator, Mr Lammas, in their new kit, with a new attitude and they took home the Second Round trophy.

The second round of the KS2 league tipped off yesterday with head coach Chris Tight reminding the teams of how well they did last time, showing great team work, sportsmanship and skill. The teams didn't let us down with improved performance which led to great exciting games.

The first game saw Holland Park Panthers fighting hard against Mayflower Mavericks and just coming off second best with a score of 9-4.
The second game was current unbeaten leaders St Osyth Scorpions with a high scoring closely played match against Mayflower Mavericks where they had their first defeat with a score of 19-15.

The third game saw St Osyth Scorpions back to winning ways against a very unlucky Holland Park Panthers who had lots of shots and were unlucky not  to score more, however they carried on right to the finish seeing them score the most exciting basket of the day, with a few great passes followed by a great knock down shot from Adam Churchill.

The League table as it stands are;  joint top St Osyth Scorpions and Mayflower Mavericks, then Holland Park Panthers, with all to play for in the final round of the league matches next month.

The KS2 Basketball League is not only about developing players, it's also helping develop leaders & officials for the future so well done to our officiating team; Rhys Tight, Nick Moodey & Kieram Moss for making the games run smoothly.
