EXPERIENCED KINGS DEFEAT YOUNG CANNONS
Cannons hosted the freshly re-formed Cornard Kings in Clacton last Friday evening. Even though this was the first fixture in the Cannons preseason programme, the team were still disappointed to lose. The vast majority of the Cannons team were much younger than their opponents, and their speed and fitness levels were apparent throughout. However the Kings did a great job on the boards therefore limiting the Cannons' chances to fast break and really capitalise on those young legs.
Both
teams would have hoped to have scored more, but equally would have been pleased
with their defensive efforts. There were defiantly positives that both sets of
coaches and players could take away from the game, and I'm sure as the summer
cobwebs are shook off there will be a lot more to come from these two teams. In
particular the young Cannons team! Next game: Tuesday 20th September 2016,
20.15 tip at Clacton Coastal Academy (formerly Colbaynes School).
Keep an eye on our attendance figures because Cannons 2006 in association with Tendring District Council are pleased to be committing to our 2016/2017 COMMUNITY JUMP INTO SPORT campaign designed to introduce as many families as possible to watch and engage with sport.
