STEADY IMPROVEMENT OF YOUNG CANNONS TEAM

Cannons succumbed to a second defeat of their preseason on Tuesday night, as they went down by 20 points to the Brightlingsea Nomads.

In what was a very physical game, there was also some good basketball on show. There were a number of well worked scores, from both sides, with a fantastically disguised pass from Rhys Tight, that got both benches and a many fans on their feet, the pick of the bunch as Cannons scored on a counter attack.

The predominantly U18 Cannons side registered 64 points against a physical Nomads team, that were also playing a lot of players from their first team last season.

The Cannons pressed fiercely throughout the game and caused their opponents to turn the ball over a number of times, unfortunately they couldn't always capitalise on these turnovers and missed a host of layups and high percentage shots.

However, Coach Chris Tight was impressed with his team's fight and the way they went hard to the basket on many occasions!

The young Cannons team are definitely showing steady improvements, and the past two games are positioning them nicely a head of the new  season tipping off.
